On Monday 8 May 2023, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, travelled from London, United Kingdom, to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a medal presentation ceremony at which the Governor-General presented recipients with the Australian Operational Service Medal – Civilian.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a dinner with recipients of the Australian Operational Service Medal – Civilian and staff from the Australian Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
