Marninwartikura Women's Resource Centre; Lililwan Project; Fitzroy Valley Girls' Sporting Academy; Shire of Derby/West Kimberley community lunch; Wesley College Yiramalay/Wesley Studio School; Leopold Downs community dinner

On Thursday 11 August 2011, at Fitzroy Crossing, Western Australia, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer, Ms June Oscar, attended a meeting at the Marninwarntikura Women's Resource Centre.

Afterwards, at the Bayulu Remote Community School, Fitzroy Crossing, the Governor-General, as Patron of the National Organisation for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Related Disorders, and Patron of the George Institute, and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Principal of the Bayulu School, Mr Ken Molyneux, attended a morning tea with the Lililwan Project team and met with local Aboriginal leaders, teachers, parents and participants of the Lililwan Project.

Later, at the Fitzroy Valley District High School, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce met with program participants and staff of the Fitzroy Valley Girls’ Sporting Academy.

Then, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Shire President of Derby/West Kimberley, Councillor Elsia Archer, attended a community lunch, at which the Governor-General delivered an address.

In the afternoon, at Leopold Downs, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the College Principal, Dr Helen Drennen, and Bunuba Aboriginal Corporation, visited the Wesley College Yiramalay/Wesley Studio School.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the College Principal and Bunuba Aboriginal Corporation, attended a community dinner.
