On Wednesday 8 November 2017, at St Paul’s Cathedral, Melbourne, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, attended the State Funeral for the late Sir Ninian Stephen KG AK GCMG GCVO KBE QC.

In the evening, at the High Court of Australia, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Justice of Australia, Chief Justice Susan Kiefel AM, attended the ‘1917 – The Night is Darkest Before the Dawn’ concert.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from St Martin’s Lutheran School, SA, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
