On Tuesday 11 February 2020, Their Excellencies, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory to Melbourne, Victoria.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Commissioner Andrew Crisp APM, visited Emergency Management Victoria's State Control Centre and met with staff involved in the bushfire management, response and recovery.

Later, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Ross Pinney, President, visited the Red Cross National
Co-ordination Centre and met with staff involved in bushfire recovery and relief.

Then, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Ms Jillian Segal AO, Chair, General Sir John Monash Foundation, attended a presentation ceremony for the 2020 John Monash Scholarship recipients at Parliament House, Melbourne.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley returned to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
