On Friday 13 October 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) was represented at Melbourne International Airport for the arrival to Australia by Dr George Vella, President of the Republic of Malta. by Honorary Aide-de-Camp Colonel Mark Richards ADC.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received a phone call from The Most Reverend Richard Umbers, Auxiliary Bishop of Sydney.  

Then, the Governor-General received a phone call from The Most Reverend Kanishka Raffel, Archbishop of Sydney.

Later, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Legatee Eric Easterbrook OAM, Chairman, attended the closing ceremony for Centenary of Legacy Torch Relay.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Legatee Easterbrook, attended a reception for the Centenary of Legacy.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Michael O’Meara OAM, Chair, visited Vasey RSL Care’s V Centre, where they met with staff, clients and residents.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received a phone call from Archbishop Peter Comensoli, Archbishop of Melbourne.
