On Tuesday 5 November 2019, Their Excellencies, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mrs Amanda Elliot, Chair, Victoria Racing Club, attended the 2019 Lexus Melbourne Cup and participated in the Trophy Presentation, at Flemington, Victoria.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley returned to Government House, Canberra.
