On Monday 12 April 2010, at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC signed a book of condolence following the tragic death of the President of Poland His Excellency Lech Kaczy?Øski; the First Lady, Mrs Maria Kaczy?Øska; and distinguished members of the Polish Government who lost their lives in the Smole?Øsk plane crash.
Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General hosted to lunch the High Commissioner for the Kingdom of Tonga, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Tupouto'a-Lavaka and the First Secretary, Mr Tevita Kilisimasi Aho. Later, the Governor-General received the Head of the Macquarie Group Foundation, Mrs Julie White. Earlier, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as Patron, hosted a morning tea for supporters and sponsors of Hartley Lifecare.
