On Monday 16 February 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received Mr Steve Margaritis.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received the Chief Executive Officer, Ramahyuck District Aboriginal Corporation, Dr Ali Khan. Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Australian High Commissioner-designate to Brunei Darussalam, Mr Mark Sawers. In the evening, the Governor of Western Australia, His Excellency Dr Ken Michael AC and Mrs Julie Michael arrived at Government House and remained overnight as houseguests.
