On Monday 19 November 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received the Australian Ambassador-designate and Permanent Representative to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, Mr Christopher Langman.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Australian Ambassador-designate to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Mr Peter Heyward. In the evening, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery hosted a reception for the Australian Defence College 2007 overseas course members.
