On Monday 21 June 2010, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received Christian Brothers from St Patrick's College, Strathfield, Brother James McGlade and Brother Barnabus Garvan.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Director of the Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre, Professor Jayashri Kulkarni, and Manager, Mr Anthony de Castella. Later, the Governor-General, as Patron, received the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Lung Foundation, Mr William Darbishire. Then, the Governor-General received Co-Chair of the National Advisory Group on Dementia, Ms Sue Pieters-Hawke. In the evening, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, hosted a reception to officially launch the Joanna Briggs Foundation. Earlier the Governor-General was represented at Darwin International Airport at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, His Excellency Dr Jose Ramos-Horta, by Group Captain Scott Winchester ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-camp.
