On Monday 23 April 2007, at Morgan Park, Warwick, Queensland, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, as Patron of the Polocrosse Association of Australia, officially opened the Ridley Polocrosse World Cup 2007.

Later, at the Goondiwindi Cultural Centre, Queensland, the Governor-General delivered an address to students at a combined High School Assembly and afterwards, as Patron of the National Association of Government School Chaplaincy Providers, officially launched the Goondiwindi School Chaplaincy Program for the community. Earlier, on behalf of the people of Australia, the Governor-General sent a message of congratulations to Their Royal Highnesses, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, on the occasion of the birth of their daughter.
