On Monday 23 February 2009, at Government House Sydney, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a luncheon hosted by the Governor of New South Wales Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE.

Afterwards, at the Sofitel Wentworth, Sydney, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended the launch of the Pacific Friends of the Global Fund, at which the Governor-General delivered an address. Afterwards, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a dinner for senior board members of the Pacific Foundation.
