On Monday, 4 June 2007, at the Langham Hotel, Melbourne, Victoria, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received the Chairman of the Australian Heritage Council, Mr Tom Harley.

Later, at the Australia Club, Melbourne, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as guests of honour of The Cook Society (Victoria), attended a luncheon at which the Governor-General delivered the keynote address. In the afternoon, at the Langham Hotel, Melbourne, the Governor-General received Mr Harold Clough, AO, OBE. Earlier the Governor-General was represented at Brisbane International Airport at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Ludwig Scotty MP, by Colonel Christopher Hamilton, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
