On Monday 7 June 2010, at Parliament House, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, officially opened the Business, Trade and Networking Forum of the New South Wales Parliament Asia Pacific Friendship Group.

Afterwards, in Macquarie Street, Sydney, the Administrator viewed the Macquarie Visions light display. Earlier, in Shanghai, China, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chairman, Mr Zhou, visited the Shanghai Yangshan Deepwater Port International Shipping Centre. Afterwards, at the Pudong Shangri-La Hotel, Shanghai, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Australian Consul-General in Shanghai, Mr Tom Connor, attended a lunch with Shanghai cultural identities to discuss ???Imagine Australia ??? Year of Australia in China'. Later, at the Baosteel Tower, Shanghai, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce met with the Chairman of the Shanghai Baosteel Group Corporation, Mr Xu Lejiang. Then, at the Shanghai Women's Federation, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce met with the President, Madame Zhang Li Li. In the evening, at the residence of the Australian Consul-General in Shanghai, Mr Tom Connor, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a dinner with members of the Australian community living in Shanghai.
