Morning tea for Special Olympics Australia; Reception for Lifeline Australia
On Friday 11 October 2013, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, as Patron, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE hosted a morning tea to mark 50 days until the Inaugural Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games commence in Newcastle.
Afterwards, the Governor-General presented the annual Eunice Kennedy Shriver award to Ms Mel Eustace for outstanding leadership, sportsmanship and the embodiment for the Special Olympics Spirit.
In the evening, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General hosted a reception for Lifeline Australia in recognition of the organisation’s 50th anniversary.
