National Memorial Service for Flight MH17

On Thursday 7 August 2014, at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Melbourne, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove attended the National Memorial Service for victims of Flight MH17.

Afterwards, at the Park Hyatt, Melbourne, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, met with families and friends of the victims of Flight MH17.

Earlier, at Melbourne International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the transit through Australia of the Governor-General of New Zealand, His Excellency Lieutenant General the Right Honourable Sir Jeremiah Mateparae GNZM QSO, by Commander Michael Murray ADC RAN, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
