On Monday 12 March 2018, at the Australian High Commission, New Delhi, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the High Commissioner to the Republic of India, Her Excellency Harinder Sidu, met with Australian-based and locally engaged staff.
Afterwards, at Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Principal, Dr Suman Sharma, visited the College and met with students and staff. The Governor-General, Lady Cosgrove and Ms Sidhu participated in a roundtable discussion with students on ‘Australia and India – Shared Learning’.
Later, at Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi temple (ISKCON Temple) the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of His Holiness Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj, visited the Temple and toured the temple art gallery. In the afternoon, at the Australian High Commission, New Delhi, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Ms Sidhu, attended a lunch with senior Australian and Indian business executives.
Afterwards, at the Indian National Defence College, New Delhi, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Commandant, Vice Admiral Srikant AVSM, met with the class of 2018 at which the Governor-General presented an address and participated in a question and answer session with the students.
Later, at Humayun’s Tomb, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Head of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, Mr Ratish Nanda, received a cultural briefing on the history of Delhi.
Then, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, announced Australian aid assistance to improve children’s development and nutrition in Nizamuddin Basti. In the evening, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a dinner with Indian based alumni of the Class of 1994 of the Indian National Defence College.
