New South Wales Department of Education and Training's School Leaders Program; 85th Birthday of Her Majesty The Queen; Visit to Al Minhad Airbase; Memorial service and morning tea for Australian service men and women
On Friday 10 June 2011, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, hosted the New South Wales Department of Education and Training’s School Leaders Program, at which the Administrator addressed school captains from 31 Government secondary schools.
Afterwards, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE, hosted a reception to mark the occasion of the 85th Birthday of Her Majesty The Queen.
Earlier, in the United Arab Emirates, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as Commander-in-Chief, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of Commander Joint Task Force 633, Major General Angus Campbell AM, visited Al Minhad Airbase and paid their private respects to Sapper Rowan Jaie Robinson.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, attended a memorial service for Australian service men that have recently lost their lives in Afghanistan, at which, the Governor-General laid a wreath.
Later, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce received an operations briefing by Major General Campbell.
Then, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a morning tea and met with Australian service men and women.
