Newman, Western Australia; Jigalong, Western Australia

On Tuesday 17 September 2019, Their Excellencies, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, travelled to Newman, Western Australia.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Presiding Officer, and Mrs Hurley attended a Citizenship Ceremony at South Newman Primary School.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled to the remote community of Jigalong where, as guests of Ms Margaret Sampson, Chair, Jigalong Community Incorporated, they attended a barbecue lunch and met with members of the Jigalong community.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley returned to Newman, Western Australia.
