Number 2 Air Field Defence Squadron Standard Parade and Governor-General's Banner Presentation; Murphy's Creek and Grantham Community Visits; 2011 Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering Clunies Ross Awards Celebration Dinner

On Thursday 19 May 2011, at Royal Australian Air Force Base Amberley, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the Number 2 Air Field Defence Squadron Standard Parade, at which the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, presented the Governor-General’s Banner.

In the afternoon, at Murphy’s Creek, Queensland, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Mayor of Lockyer Valley Regional Council, Councillor Steve Jones, met with local residents affected by the January floods.

Afterwards, at Grantham, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, accompanied by Councillor Steve Jones, hosted a community event in recognition of National Families Week.

In the evening, at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Chair of the Organising Committee, Mr Martin Albrecht AC, attended the 2011 Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering Clunies Ross Awards Celebration Dinner, at which the Governor-General delivered an address and presented awards.
