Official launch of a commemorative coronation coin

On Friday 21 June 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO received the Mayor of Lockyer Valley, Counsellor Steve Jones.

Afterwards, at the Royal Australian Mint, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially launched the commemorative coloured circulating $2 coin celebrating the 60th anniversary of the coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Earlier, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the Governor-General of the Solomon Islands, His Excellency Sir Frank Ofagioro Kabui, by Colonel Scanlan CSM RFD ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
