Official opening Kew-Y-Ahn Bell Rock Heritage Trail and Gallery; Moment in Time Exhibition; European Australian Business Council Mission to Europe
On Saturday 1 June 2013, at the Hartley Historic Site, Hartley, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, officially opened the Kew-Y-Ahn Bell Rock Heritage Trail and Gallery as part of community events celebrating the first European crossing of the Blue Mountains in 1813.
Afterwards, at Hartley Historic School, the Administrator delivered an address and dedicated a Memorial before opening the Moment in Time exhibition. The Administrator also planted an Everlasting Daisy with Ms Hedi Wood and attended a lunch in the School House.
Earlier, at the Musée National de la Légion d’Honneur, Paris, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Grand Chancelier of the Légion d’Honneur, General Jean-Louis Georgelin, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, presented a set of Australian Honours and Awards.
Afterwards, at the Australian Embassy, Paris, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Ambassador to the French Republic, His Excellency Mr Ric Wells, attended a reception with members of the Australian community.
