Opening of ANZAC Walk and ANZAC Place in Emerald; Visit to the Fire Protection Association; Visit to First Voice
On Wednesday 11 March 2015, in Emerald, Victoria, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of Emerald RSL, Mr Peter Maloney, opened the ANZAC Walk and ANZAC Place, to recognise the 32 soldiers from Emerald Township and its surrounding Districts who died during World War I.
Afterwards, in Blackburn North, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer of the Fire Protection Association, Mr Scott Williams, visited Fire Protection Association Head Office, where the Governor-General, as Patron, met with staff and volunteers.
Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chair of First Voice, Ms Therese Kelly, visited First Voice Taralye where the Governor-General, as Patron, viewed classroom activity and met with staff and families.
