Opening of the ‘Multicultural Media at a Crossroads Conference;’ Memorial service for the late Dr Colin Laverty; Republic of Korean Presidential Inauguration Ceremony; Reception at the Australian Embassy in Seoul; Presidential Inauguration Dinner
On Monday 25 February 2013, at Parliament House, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, officially opened the ‘Multicultural Media at a Crossroads Conference.’
Afterwards, at The Parish Church of St James, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE, attended a memorial service for the late Dr Colin Laverty.
Earlier, at the National Assembly, Seoul, Republic of Korea, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, represented the Government and people of Australia at the Presidential Inauguration Ceremony of Madame Park Geun-hye.
Afterwards, at the Australian Embassy, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Mr Sam Gerovich, attended a reception with Embassy staff and families.
In the evening, at the Blue House, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the President of the Republic of Korea, Madame Park Geun-hye, attended the Presidential Inauguration dinner, at which the Governor-General delivered the toast to the new President on behalf of the international community.
Earlier, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of Kiribati, His Excellency Anote Tong MP, by Brigadier Greg Bilton CSC ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
