Opening of the Racial Discrimination Act 40th Anniversary Conference
On Thursday 19 February 2014, at the Australian Human Rights Commission, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of the Australian Race Discrimination Commissioner, Dr Tim Soutphommasane, opened the Australian Human Rights Commission Conference to mark the 40th anniversary of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth).
Afterwards, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway, by Commander Theodore Wynberg ADC RAN, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
