Opening of Waratah-Mayfield Multicultural Men’s Shed; Opening of Singleton Men’s Shed; 2015 Wilson Security Black Diamond Cup AFL match; Newcastle Club President’s Dinner

On Saturday 27 June 2015, at Waratah-Mayfield, Newcastle, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron of the Australian Men’s Shed Association, and Lady Cosgrove, opened the Waratah-Mayfield Multicultural Men’s Shed.

Afterwards, at Singleton, the Governor-General, as Patron of the Australian Men’s Shed Association, and Lady Cosgrove opened the Singleton Men’s Shed.

Then, at Newcastle No1 Sportsground, Newcastle, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended the 2015 Wilson Security Black Diamond Cup AFL match between Cardiff and Terrigal Avoca.

In the evening, at the Newcastle Club, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Mr Jeff Eather, attended the President’s Dinner, at which the Governor-General unveiled a plaque in honour of Dr Peter Hendry AO.
