Order of Australia Association Dinner; Visit to Hospicio de San Jose; Philippine architects’ lunch; Senior female Philippine officials’ lunch; Meeting with Australian Embassy staff; Reception for the Australian community and Youth Ambassadors

On Friday 13 April 2012, at the Darwin Convention Centre, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, as guest of the President of the Order of Australia Association, the Honourable Shane Stone AC QC, and the Chair of the Order of Australia Association, Mr Peter McDermott AM CSC, attended the Order of Australia Association National Conference Dinner, and gave an address and presented three Order of Australia Association Foundation scholarships.

Earlier, at Hospicio de San Jose, Manilla, Philippines, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Acting Administrator of Hospicio de San Jose, Ms Josefina Dimalaluan, visited a refuge for abused women and children.

Afterwards, at the Australian Embassy, Manila, Mr Bryce, as guest of the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines, His Excellency Mr Bill Tweddell, attended a working lunch with prominent Philippine architects.

Later, at The Shang Grand Tower, Legasapi Village, Makati City, the Governor-General, as guest of the former Foreign Secretary and Philippine Ambassador to Australia, Ms Delia Domingo Albert, attended a lunch with senior female Philippine officials.

Then, at the Australian Embassy, Manilla, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines, met with Australian and locally-engaged staff.

In the evening, at the Australian Ambassador’s Residence, Manilla, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, attended a reception for prominent members of the Australian community and Youth Ambassadors.
