On Sunday 11 November 2018, in Paris, France, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, received His Excellency Mr Brendan Berne, Ambassador to the French Republic.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, attended a Centenary of the Armistice Ceremony, at the Arc de Triomphe, Paris.

Later, the Governor-General, as guest of His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, attended a Heads of State lunch at the Elysee Palace, Paris. At the same time, Lady Cosgrove, as guest of Madame Brigitte Macron, First Lady of the French Republic, attended a lunch at the Versailles Palace.

Then, the Governor-General, as guest of His Excellency Mr Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, attended the opening of the Paris Peace Forum, where the Governor-General presented a book to the Peace Library, at Grande Halle de La Villette, Paris.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Lady Cosgrove, hosted an Investiture Ceremony and reception for Mr Edouard Philippe, Prime Minister of the French Republic, at the Embassy of Australia, Paris.

In the evening, Their Excellencies, as guests of His Excellency Mr Brendan Berne, Ambassador to the French Republic, attended a reception for Australians in France for the Centenary of the Armistice, at the Embassy of Australia, Paris.
