Paris; Villers-Bretenoux; Le Hamel; Daours; Tourgéville, France
On Wednesday 5 June 2024, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, travelled from Paris to Villers-Bretenoux, France.
On arrival, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Ben Daetwyler, Director, visited the Sir John Monash Centre and attended an informal lunch with the Centre’s staff.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled to Le Hamel, where as guests of Lieutenant Colonel Dean Kachab, Australian Army Liaison Officer to France, they visited the Australian Corps Memorial.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, travelled to Daours Cemetery, where as guests of Mr Barry Murphy, Chief Operating Officer, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, they attended a wreath-laying ceremony for the late Captain John James Marshall.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Daours to Tourgéville, France.
