Parramatta, NSW; Canberra ACT

On Friday 17 November 2017, at the Parramatta Mission, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the Senior Minister and Chief Executive Officer, Reverend Keith Hamilton, visited the Mission and met with staff and volunteers.

In the afternoon, at Darcy Street, Parramatta, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the Founder of the Darcy Street Project, Mr John Cafferatta met with staff and trainees.

Afterwards, at Grounded Space, Parramatta, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Catalysr Mr Jacob Muller and the Chief Executive Officer of Grounded Space, Mr Peter Doueihi, visited Catalysr and met with business start-ups.

Later, at the Western Sydney University South Campus, Parramatta the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Coordinator of the Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education, Ms Zeita Davies, viewed the facilities and met with staff and students.

Then, at the Janice Reid Pavilion Building, Western Sydney University South Campus, Parramatta, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove as guests of the Chancellor of Western Sydney University, Professor Peter Shergold AC, attended an investiture ceremony for the Honourable Sir Anthony Mason AC KBE GBM QC at which the Governor-General presented Sir Anthony with an admission as an Honorary Fellow of the Australian Institute of Building.

Yesterday, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received the Commissioners of the Royal Commission into the Protection and Detention of Children in the Northern Territory, the Honourable Margaret White AO and Mr Mick Gooda, who presented the final report of the Royal Commission.
