On Sunday 18 April 2021, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, travelled from Perth, Western Australia to Geraldton, Western Australia.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Commissioner Darren Klemm AFSM, Department of Fire and Emergency Services, visited the Geraldton Command and Response Centre and received a briefing on the impact of (and operations following) Tropical Cyclone Seroja.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Commissioner Darren Klemm AFSM and Ms Melissa Pexton, State Recovery Coordinator, Department of Fire and Emergency Services, visited the Geraldton Recovery Centre and met with volunteers and residents.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, travelled to Northhampton, where as guests of Councillor Craig Simkin, President, Shire of Northampton, attended the daily community response briefing.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, travelled to Kalbarri, where as guests of Commissioner Darren Klemm AFSM, Department of Fire and Emergency Services, visited the Kalbarri Divisional Command Centre and met with First Responders and Emergency Service Personnel.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, travelled from Kalbarri, Western Australia to Perth, Western Australia.
