On Tuesday 2 October 2018, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, visited Headspace and met with staff at their headquarters, in Obsorne Park, as guests of Ms Julie Carr, Deputy Chair of Black Swan Health.

Afterwards, Their Excellencies visited ‘Grow’ – a community driven charity specialising in mental health support services – as guests of Ms Nila Cecconi, Branch Manager, in Wembley.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove visited the University of Western Australia’s School of Indigenous Studies where they met with staff and students as guests of Professor Jill Milroy AM, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Indigenous Education.

Then, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Lady Cosgrove, as Master of Ceremonies, invested Ms Lucette Aldous AC, as a Companion of the Order of Australia, at the COMO Treasury Hotel in Perth.

In the afternoon, Their Excellencies met with staff and clients at the YMCA Belmont Youth Services Centre, as guests of Councillor Phil Marks, Mayor of the City of Belmont.
