On Wednesday 16 March 2016, at Sunset Hospital, Dalkeith, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Patron-in-Chief and, Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Mr Neil Hamilton and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Sean Farrell, visited the Bravery Trust, received a brief and met with staff and beneficiaries.
Afterwards, at the University of Western Australia, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chancellor, Dr Michael Chaney AO, officially opened the Futures Observatory, viewed the facilities and interacted with new teaching technology.
Later, in Guildford, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer, Sports Challenge, Dr Garry Tester and the Principal, Guildford Primary School, Ms Robyn Webster, visited the School and observed students participating in the Sports Challenge program.
Then, in Waterford, the Governor-General, as Patron and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman, Clontarf Foundation, Mr Ross Kelly AM and the Principal, Clontarf Aboriginal College, visited the College and viewed a Clontarf Academy Aussie Rules training session.
Afterwards, in Perth, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as joint Patrons and as guests of the Program Leader, Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre, Mr Anthony Dewis, visited students undertaking the Centre’s Certificate II and IV courses, at which the Governor-General delivered an address on leadership.
