On Sunday 13 August 2017, at the Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Mr Rob Murphy, viewed the club house and met with members.
Afterwards, at the National Vietnam Veteran’s Museum, Phillip Island, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a Defence and Employment Platoon plaque unveiling and dedication.
Later, at the Cape Kitchen, Phillip Island, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Mayor of the Bass Coast Shire Council, Councillor Pamela Rothfield, attended a civic reception.
In the afternoon, at the Phillip Island Country Fire Authority headquarters, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Captain, Captain Gary Grace, viewed the facilities and met with volunteers.
Afterwards, at the Phillip Island State Emergency Services headquarters, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Unit Controller, Ms Dianne Duncombe, viewed the facilities and met with volunteers.
Later, at Bimbadeen Farm, Phillip Island, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the owner, Mr Steve Davie, received a briefing on operations and viewed the facilities.
In the evening, at the Phillip Island Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Catherine Basterfield, viewed the facility and met with staff.
