President of the European Commission

On Monday 5 September 2011, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received PhD student, Ms Freda Talao, from the T.C. Beirne School of Law at the University of Queensland.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Australian Ambassador to the European Union, the Honourable Dr Brendan Nelson.

Later, the Governor-General received the President of the European Commission His Excellency Mr José Manuel Barroso.

Earlier, the Governor-General was represented at Sydney International Airport at the transit through Australia by the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Marcus Stephen MP, by Colonel Michael Miller RFD ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp
