Principal Warfare Officer Graduation; Australian Command and Staff College Graduation; Pinchgut Opera; 2022 FIFA World Cup Announcement

On Thursday 2 December 2010, at HMAS Watson, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, as guest of the Commanding Officer, Captain Jay Bannister ADC RAN, attended the Principal Warfare Officer Graduation Ceremony, at which the Administrator presented the Sydney-Emden Award for overall Dux.

Afterwards, at the Australian Defence Force Academy, Canberra, the Administrator attended the Australian Command and Staff College Graduation, at which the Administrator delivered the address and presented the Governor-General’s Prize.

In the evening, at the City Recital Hall, Sydney, the Administrator, as guest of the Pinchgut Opera, attended the opening night of Haydn’s L'anima del Filosofo: Orpheus & Eurydice.

Later, at the Messe Zurich Conference Centre, Switzerland, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which the winning bid to host the 2022 International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) World Cup was announced.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of Football Federation Australia, attended a dinner with the Australian 2022 FIFA World Cup bid team.
