Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia; Ceremonial wreath presentation; Consulate-General afternoon tea; Visit to Pearl Harbour

On Monday 1 April 2013, following the departure of the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO to undertake an official visit to Canada and the United States of America, the Proclamation assuming the Administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia was signed by the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO.

Earlier, at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Sprent Dabwido MP, by Group Captain Guy Burton CSC ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

Afterwards, at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, United States of America, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Commander US Pacific Air Force, General Herbert Carlisle, the Commanding General US Army Pacific, Lieutenant General Francis Wiercinski, and in the presence of the Governor of the State of Hawaii, Mr Neil Abercrombie, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General laid a wreath.

Later, at the Pacific Club, Honolulu, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Consul-General, Mr Scott Dewar, attended an afternoon tea with Australian Defence Force personnel, Consulate-General staff and their families.

Then, at Pearl Harbour, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Chief of Staff for US Pacific Command, Major General Tony Crutchfield, visited the Boathouse Museum and viewed the USS Arizona Memorial.
