Royal Humane Society of Australasia investiture; Visit to the Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre; investiture ceremony; Ian Potter Foundation dinner

On Tuesday 23 September 2014, at Melbourne City Town Hall, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Senior Patron of the Royal Humane Society of Australasia, and Lady Cosgrove, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General presented the Clarke Silver Medal to Victorian Police Officer, Sergeant Daniel Burgess.

Afterwards, in St Kilda, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director, Professor Jayashri Kulkarni, visited the Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre and received a presentation on current research projects.

Later, at the Hilton on the Park, Melbourne, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Lady Cosgrove, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General invested Ms Judith Durham AO with the insignia of Officer of the Order of Australia.

In the evening, at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairman of The Ian Potter Foundation, Mr Charles Goode AC, attended the 50th anniversary gala dinner.
