On Wednesday 9 November 2016, at RAAF Base East Sale, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove attended the Combat Survival Training School Governor-General’s Banner Consecration Ceremony, at which the Governor-General presented the Governor-General’s Banner.

Afterwards, at the Sale Specialist School, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Principal, Ms Shelagh Donegan, visited classrooms and met with teachers and students.

Later, at the Sale Elderly Citizens Village, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chairperson, Ms Ann Ferguson, viewed the facilities and met with staff and residents.

In the afternoon, at the St John Ambulance Centre, Sale, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Manager, Dr Iain Nicholson, viewed the facilities and met with staff of St John Ambulance. There, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove dropped in on a meeting of the Cobain’s Country Women’s Association.

Afterwards, at the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Sale, the Governor-General, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chair, Mr Denis Henry and CEO, Mr Scott Chapman, received a briefing on operations and viewed a demonstration of the Communication Centre.

Later, at the Wellington Entertainment Centre, Sale, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Wellington Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Carolyn Crossley, attended a civic reception.
