On Saturday 15 May 2010, at Milikapiti, Tiwi Islands, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE visited the Jilamara Arts and Craft Association.

Afterwards, at the Melville Fishing Lodge, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Managing Director, Mr Mike Baxter, met with the Traditional Owners and community members of Milikapiti. Later, at Pickertaramoor, Melville Island, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Chairman of the Tiwi Education Board, Mr Marius Puruntatameri, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially opened the Tiwi College. During the ceremony, the Governor-General inspected the North-West Mobile Force cadets and planted a commemorative tree. In the afternoon, at Nguiu, Bathurst Island, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of Chief Executive Officer, Ms Libby Saunders, visited the Nguiu Aged Care Facility. Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce visited Tiwi Designs.
