On Saturday 16 February 2008, in the Bravery Garden, Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended a Service of Remembrance for the Australian Bravery Association at which the Governor-General delivered an address, and together with Mrs Jeffery laid flowers.

In the evening, at Parliament House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mrs Jeffery attended the Order of Australia Association National Conference Dinner at which the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia and Patron of the Association, presented Foundation Scholarships.
