Senate Swearing-in ceremony; NAIDOC week Flag Raising ceremony

On Monday 7 July 2014, at Parliament House, Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General administered the oath or affirmation of allegiance to Senators elected to serve in the Senate from 1 July 2014.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended a Flag Raising ceremony and dance performance by the ‘Solid Young Fellas and Sistas’ program to commemorate the start of National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee week.

Later, the Governor-General received the Ambassador to Japan, Mr Bruce Miller.
