Service of Choral Matins for the Diamond Jubilee of the Coronation of Her Majesty The Queen; European Australian Business Council Mission to Europe

On Sunday 2 June 2013, at the Parish Church of St James, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, accompanied by Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE, attended a Service of Choral Matins on the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee of the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Earlier, in Paris, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Chairman of the Australian Council for the Arts, Mr Rupert Myer AM, and accompanied by the artist, Ms Lena Nyadbi, viewed the permanent piece of Indigenous artwork ‘Dayiwul Lirmim’ on the Musée du quai Branly.

Afterwards, at the Musée du quai Branly, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the President of the Museum, Mr Stéphane Martin, and accompanied by members of the European Australian Business Council, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General handed over custodianship Ms Nyadbi’s artwork.

Later, at Les Ombres Restaurant, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a lunch hosted by Mr Myer and the Ambassador to the French Republic, His Excellency Mr Ric Wells, with Ms Nyadbi and members of the Australian Council for the Arts.

Then, the Governor-General attended an introductory briefing for the European mission by the President of the European Australian Business Council, Mr Alastair Walton.

In the evening, at the Ambassador’s residence, the Governor-General, as guest of the Ambassador, attended a reception with members of the European Australian Business Council.
