St Peter's Cathedral service; Ms Marjorie Jackson-Nelson AC CVO MBE 80th birthday celebration; Dinner with the Archbishop of Adelaide
On Sunday 11 September 2011, at St Peter’s Cathedral, Adelaide, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a church service in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of September 11.
Afterwards, at Ayers House, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended the 80th birthday celebrations for Ms Marjorie Jackson-Nelson AC CVO MBE, at which the Governor-General delivered an address and presented a book ‘80 years of memories’.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a dinner hosted in their honour by the Archbishop of Adelaide, the Most Reverend Philip Wilson.
Earlier, the Governor-General was represented at Brisbane International Airport at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Marcus Stephen MP, by Colonel Dennis Scanlan CSM RFD ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
Afterwards, the Governor-General was represented at Sydney International Airport at the arrival in Australia of the Governor-General of the Solomon Islands, His Excellency Sir Frank Ofagioro Kabui CSI CMG OBE, by Commander Theodore Wynberg ADC RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
Then, the Governor-General was represented at Brisbane International Airport at the departure from Australia of the President of the Republic of Nauru, by Commander Lachlan King ADC RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
