On Sunday 30 March 2008, at the National Motor Museum, Birdwood, South Australia, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General officially unveiled the first of three busts of Mr E. G. ???Tom' Kruse MBE. Afterwards, as guests of the Director, Mr Kym Hulme, Their Excellencies toured the Museum.

Later, at Government House, Adelaide, Their Excellencies attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, invested the Governor of South Australia, His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR, with the insignia of his appointment as a Companion in the Order of Australia.
