Swearing-in Ceremony
On Thursday 27 June 2013, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General issued the Instrument of Appointment and Oath of Office to the newly appointed Prime Minister, the Honourable Kevin Rudd MP.
Afterwards, the Governor-General issued the Instruments of Appointment and Affirmations of Office to the newly appointed Minister for Infrastructure and Transport and Minister for Regional Australia and Local Government, the Honourable Anthony Albanese MP; and Treasurer, the Honourable Mr Chris Bowen MP.
Later, at the National Arboretum, Mr Bryce attended a reception in honour of the departing Chairman of ACTEWAGL, Mr John Mackay AM.
Earlier, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the Governor-General of the Solomon Islands, His Excellency Sir Frank Ofagioro Kabui, by Group Captain Sue McGready ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
