On Thursday 23 February 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) participated in a video call with Her Excellency the Right Honourable Dame Cindy Kiro GNZM QSO DStJ, Governor-General of New Zealand; and Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon CC CMM COM OQ CD, Governor-General of Canada.   

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Hurley received Ms Rachael Moore, Australian High Commissioner to Tonga; and Ms Melissa Eagles, Manager of the Canberra Fellowships Program, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a morning tea for His Royal Highness Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Tonga, Lord Fakafanua, Speaker, and a delegation from the Legislative Assembly of Tonga as part of the Canberra Fellowships Program.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Mrs Hurley, hosted an afternoon tea for the launch of the Sisters of Charity Scholarship Fund.
