On Wednesday 18 October 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), as guest of Mr Shane Phillips, Chief Executive Officer, attended a Tribal Warrior boxing session at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received His Excellency Abdulla Alsubousi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, for a farewell call.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a swearing-in ceremony for members of the Defence Force Discipline Appeal Tribunal, at which the Governor-General issued oaths of office to the Honourable Justice John Logan RFD, as President, and the Honourable John Halley as a Member.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr Craig Stevens, Chief Executive Officer, visited the Community Northern Beaches community drop-in centre.

Then, the Governor-General received a phone call from Professor Peter Yu AM, Vice-President (First Nations), Australian National University.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Commander Teilo Elliot-Smith, Commanding Officer, attended a Trafalgar Night dinner onboard His Majesty’s Ship TAMAR.
