On Friday 18 November 2022, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Ms Arabella Gibson, Chief Executive Officer, visited and met with staff at Gidget House.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley recorded a video message for the Australian Men's and Women's Rugby League World Cup teams (Kangaroos and Jillaroos).

Later, the Governor-General received Ms Tracey Powell, Chair and Mr Paul McGrath, Chief Executive Officer, YHA Australia.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a reception for the 20th Anniversary of the ANZAC Research Institute.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Sydney, New South Wales, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended the farewell reception for Major General Kathryn Toohey AM CSC.
