On Monday 4 September 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), Patron, and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley participated in the Bravery Trust’s 2023 Bravery Trek.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Mrs Hurley, hosted a morning tea for the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect to mark the commencement of National Child Protection Week.

Later, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of His Excellency Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi, President of Botswana, by Colonel Andrew Constantine CSC ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received a phone call from Mr Ray Griggs AO CSC, Secretary, Department of Social Services.

In the evening, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Mrs Hurley, hosted a reception for Fire Protection Association Australia to mark the commencement of National Fire Protection Month.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Sydney, New South Wales, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
